Malcolm enlisted in the Air Force in 1948 and retired from the service in 1969. He and his family relocated to Pasadena in 1969 where he then joined Southwestern Bell retiring in 1998 at the age of 68. Malcolm was a faithful member of Channelview Church of Christ and served as an elder until the death of his beloved wife Maxie in 2002. Until his recent illness he and his visiting partners Bill Ferguson and Don Franks visited those of the hospitalized and elderly church family every week.
Malcolm was predeceased by his wife Maxie Broyles, his parents Vernon and Eura Broyles, his brother Byron Broyles, sister Nona Stanley and his son Malcolm Broyles Jr. He is survived by his daughters Rhonda Gordon and husband Larry, DeAnna Cox and husband Norman, and daughter Carole, his brother Sidney and wife Linda, grandchildren Lynn Gordon and wife Autumn, Shannon Graham, Dean Gordon and wife Jennifer and Casey Gordon, great grandchildren Deavyn, Christian and Nathan Gordon and Connor Seward.
