Norma was born August 9, 1936 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Marion Edward and Thelma Jane Weston. The Weston family moved to Pasadena in 1945, where she attended Gardens Elementary, Jackson Junior High and Pasadena High School, where she graduated in 1954. In 1956, Norma was introduced to the love of her life, Jerry Lee Ernst. They were married on September 14, 1957 at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Pasadena, Texas.
Norma became a member of the First Christian Church when she was 16 years old. She has faith in God and a deep love for family and friends. She was always a phone call away and by your side to offer help, comfort and support. Norma showed her daughters and grandchildren how to love deeply and care for family and friends. She attended many high school reunions and will always keep “The Steel Magnolias” close to her heart.
Norma worked at Shell Chemical after her high school graduation, then received employment with Pasadena Independent School District after the birth of her first daughter. Norma retired from PISD in 1995 to become a full time grandma.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Jean Wade and twin granddaughters, Heather Lee and Lauren Hunt Pilkington.
Norma is survived by her husband, Jerry; brother, James Ray Weston; daughters Pam Rodriguez and husband Jason, Michelle Carter and husband Jon; grandchildren Mathew Pilkington, Samantha Marroquin, Nathan Carter, Hope Pena, and Christa Rodriguez; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
