My heart goes out to your family I guess at the time of the ceremony I sat there in pure disbelief not really wanting to accept I saw you that Friday and then that Monday there was the bad news instead of you being there. May your soul continue to be in peace. So much has changed out here but one thing remains, the love you showed I try to show everyday. 

I think about you every day. Often I cry because I miss you so much. I am so grateful for every moment we shared together. Love you my brother, always & forever.

Happy Birthday Rick!! I remember your birthday last year and what we did, How Monica, Carlos and Me and our Grandchildren took you to breakfast, then that afternoon we went to my moms house for the BBQ and you were so glad to see everyone and they were so glad and happy to see you!! Then after the BBQ you and I went to the Texan Game and had a blast.  After the game we went to have drinks and we talked and talked and laughed  I remember how you kept saying to me you did not want to go to Dallas and spend your Birthday there..you kept telling me you wanted to spend your birthday with our children and Me, I guess in some weird way you knew that it would be your last Birthday and you chose to spend you last Birthday with US.  Im so happy for those memories I will always treasure  our love and all the years we spent together THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES MUGROSITO!!  LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!!!

Rick...cant believe its has been eight months since you left our side I miss you and don't know how to deal with the pain  sometimes!!. It has been 6 months since the passing of your dad, my best friend. I just want you all to know that my thoughts and prayers are still with you both as well as your family. I miss you.  I regret the limited time I spent with you on your recent visit to Michigan.  I read the messages posted by the lives you have touched; you were an inspiration to many.  You have made your family proud and I know my dad enjoyed spending time with you.  The quite talks in the deer blind or the trip to Belize are but a few examples.  He loved you. Thank you for always taking such good care of Grandma.  She will always love you.  I hope to be remembered as the type of outstanding man you have always been.  I love you.

Post it here my condolences to the family Plasencia and a prayer for my cousin who has always been with us through thick and thin. We teach what is humility and give without expecting anything in return. Jesus Zarate (Tijuana,Mex)

Aunt Coqui, please know that half of who Uncle Rick is, was because of your love, care and nurturing for him. Your presence in his life made him soar to levels he couldnt have reached on his own. The love you and Uncle Rick have is an inspiration....I know he loves you dearly.

We bury bodies but cannot bury the Soul. We pay hommage to a Good, Strong Man, Father and Husband. We say farewell to the body but speak Love to his Soul. You are alive and well Uncle Rick, and one day we shall embrace you again. I Love You. See you when the time is right. Enjoy the Glory of Heaven, you deserve it.

I was so sad to learn of Rick's passing.  He was my boss and friend at legacy AT&T in San Antonio.  He was one of the good guys.
My condolences and prayers go out to his family.

Ricardo Plasencia had honor, integrity, righteousness, was upright in conduct, and the world was a better place because he lived in it.  And we were better individuals for knowing him. 

Rick would call every day while driving home from work to find out how our day went and with a joke or funny anecdote that would brighten up your day.  Rick always had a very positive outlook on life and it was the infectious attitude that everyone caught when they were around him. 

Rick re-established the tradition of bringing the grand kids to Abuelita’s house on the weekends where there were new wonderful everlasting memories of fun, food, laughter and family.

Rick’s conviction for family led to continuous visits to his father’s, which included his grand kids. 

Trips to Detroit visiting family and friends revitalized Rick. He had just returned from a mini family reunion in Detroit just in time to pack and head south to Belize.  Rick mixed his favorite passions of sun, surf and sand with his brothers in Belize for one last great adventure.

Rick enjoyed shopping.  A keen eye for the obvious and distinct fashion fueled his flare for style and trends.

Ricardo was the one everyone reached out to and called in their time of need.  He helped friends and family through life’s tribulations, yet never expecting anything in return.

Rick, thank you for being you.  We will miss you but we know that we have to let you go.

I am soo sorry for the great loss in your family, Ricky as I remember him , was always as a great man, honest, sincere,  a loving father and a responsable head of family.  I can not imagine the sorrow you are going through, our heart goes out to yours and we pray that God will provide the strength to continue. Ricky made a name for himself and that was a great name, may it never be forgotten....

How do you measure a man’s life?  Ricardo’s could be measured in this way.  He was the best SON, a remarkable BROTHER, an extraordinary FATHER AND GRANDFATHER, a grand NEPHEW and UNCLE, a great COLLEAGUE and dear, precious FRIEND TO ALL OF US. 

When Rick was born, he was sent to all of us from GOD as his angel to sow seeds of greatness and to touch all of our lives in his very special ways.  He truly was a “saint” that was sent on a special mission from heaven to comfort and support all of those whose lives he touched.  He was our lifeline.  He always put his family first and he was always second.  He was the glue that bonded every member of his family and every friend he made.  His compassion for love and forgiveness was never ending.

Rick’s 2 grand kids, Alyx and Jacob had a very special place in his heart.  He took being a Grandpa very seriously and devoted many days and hours and countless weekends to them.  

Some of Rick’s virtues he took pleasure in, was having more shirts than Ralph Lauren could even make & needing extra closet space for all of them.  Having a large collection of colognes he was able to wear a new aroma for every day of the week.  He hardly won much when we played cards at family gatherings but he always was the 1st and last at the table to deal the cards.  From disco to Mexican music, if it had a beat to dance to, you would always find Rick on the dance floor. Throughout his career, Rick was known to be the 1st one there at the crack of dawn to turn the lights on and make the coffee and the last one to leave, turn off the lights & lock the door.  His quiet unassuming confidence radiated a soft but powerful leadership that all his colleagues and friends throughout his life and career took solace that the task would be done.

I know that in my life, I’ll never forget Rick’s enormous heart, in my time of trouble, you took me under your wing and protected me and now I know in my heart that GOD is doing the same for you.  I WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER LOVE YOU!

As a friend of Rick's from living in Delray and also going to school with him I am deeply sadden about the passing of a good person. I am not surprise after reading some of the comments in the guest book that 30+ years later Rick is the same type of a person I grew up with. Although it is not easy at this time for the family remember that "only the good die young" and that is why God called on Rick. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficut time. I remember on that Friday before you left work when i received a customer compliment and you replied "Your the best! you know i expect more." This will always be in my mind and heart. Rick was always a joy to be around daily.I had the pleasure of working with him several years ago at Direct Energy. I looked forward to hearing the stories (and seeing the pictures) at work of his granddaugther who brought so much happiness into his life. He was a smart, intelligent, funny, and giving man. My condolences to his family during this time of loss. He will be missed dearly by each and every person he came across.

 What is there left to say?  I know that you are in a great place.  You are a great person. You are so kind and thoughtful and so full of life, so I know that you still live..... So what do I say? You have showed me in so many ways that to live life to it's fullest and have no regrets, make no enemies and most importantly love GOD with all my heart and he will direct my paths. To your family, he spoke of you all often, there were some of you who shared his birthday, we talked about that because my son's birthday is the same so I will never ever forget you... We joked about a lot of things that made others laugh, and those are the memories I am holding on to.   Although in our past times, I felt like I could not measure up to your high standards, I look back and feel as if you were helping me grow (CHANGE HELPS US ALL GROW TO WHERE GOD WANTS US TO BE)  So  to the entire family, know that Rick would want you to live a full life, never look back and keep moving forward so that one day your paths will cross again. And to his family; may I send out my deepest condolences. To loose a loved one is the most difficult thing that anyone can experience but knowing that he is serving for HIM eternally and we shall all meet again in a place with no pain or suffering will allow you to continue on and all you can do is look forward to that day HE chooses to bless you enough to bring you HOME.

I too struggle to find words to post to describe the loss and sadness I feel for Rick who was a good friend. Rick often expressed his love for his family, especially his grandchildren.  He loved you all so much. The world will be a much sader place without Rick's smile and postitive attitude.  Rick, you may be gone, but you most definitely will not be forgotten. To the family I offer my condolences for your loss of such a wonderful person.

“Rick” was an awesome person, manager, and mentor. His spirit of excellence, leadership, and loyalty will continue to live on in my life. I worked with Rick for 2 ½ years, and he was a GREAT Leader at Gexa Energy and in a lot of ways he was a Dad to us all. You can tell by his loving spirit and kind heart that Rick dwelled with the Lord. Be encouraged because even though Rick will be missed we can rest in God and know that to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. In knowing this we can have joy that someday we will see him again in Heaven. May God give you strength during this time of bereavement, joy in time of sorrow, and peace that surpasses all understanding.

My condolences goes out to the Plasencia family and all the other people whose lives were touched by Rick you have my deepest sympathy. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. We love you Rick. My boss had one of the GREATEST SMILES, one that could always light up a room! You will always be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Rick for many years.  He was a good friend and co-worker who always lead his life by doing what is right.  His dedication to family, friends and work will be greatly missed.

I didn't know Rick very well, or for very long, but I worked with carlos for over two years, and in that time I saw the relationship he had with his father was much like the one I shared with my dad.  The moments I did share with Rick were always positive and it was clear that he was a good, fun-loving man who cared very deeply about his family and those he loved.  

The void that Rick leaves in this world will never truly be filled, but his legacy will live on through his children and grand-children, and the gift of the times he spent with them will enrich their lives for a long time to come.

Godspeed, Rick.  It was a pleasure to have known you.
