

He was born in Houston, Texas on February 28th, 1956 along with a twin sister, to Charlene S. Archer and Julius C. Archer Jr. He was married to Jacqueline Wheeler of Pasadena Texas until her untimely death in an automobile accident in 1977. He is survived by their son Jason P. Archer of Pasadena, Texas and grandchildren Zane Archer and Jaclyn Archer. He is also survived by his loving mother, Charlene as well as his twin sister Regina Archer-Hartig, her husband Thomas W. Hartig and their son Keller C. Hartig of Los Angeles, California and his sister Julie A. Archer of Houston, Texas along with very dear Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
In a 40 year career that took him to many states in the US and countries around the world, Rodger found a challenging and rewarding life. He worked in the Heat Treating Industry and most recently was a Senior Quality Control Inspector for Zachry at a site in the area of Freeport Texas. He loved his job and counts many of the people with whom he worked as dear friends and great colleagues.
Rodger was a fun loving, all or nothing guy. He had so many good times and adventures in all the things he loved to do. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and loved deep sea fishing and riding Harley’s. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed watching the sun sets on the porch at the “Ranch” but would choose to live near water over anywhere. He made people laugh with his quick wit and was generous to so many. Like his parents, he was a supporter of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Rodger was preceded in death by his wife Jackie , His father J. C. Archer Jr. , and paternal grandparents Elsie and J. C. Archer Sr., and maternal grandparents Ada and Charley Hilz.
