Ronald "Ronnie" Sharp

Ronald “Gizmo” Allen Sharp, 82, of La Porte, TX, was called home on December 29, 2018. Although he was born in Houston, TX on July 3, 1936 to George H. Sharp and Irene Sharp, he resided in La Porte, TX for all of his blessed years. He was married to his “Yellow Rose of Texas” Rosemary Sharp for 58 blissful years. He served in the United States Air Force as part of the Strategic Air Command as an Airman Second Class. Ronnie retired from DuPont after 35 years of loyal service and he cultivated many long lasting friendships. Ronnie was a past District Deputy Grand Master in the Grand Council and a past District Deputy Grand High Priest in the Grand Royal Arch Chapter. He was a Past Master of 5 Masonic Lodges throughout Southeast Texas and a member of multiple international Masonic Lodges. He was also deeply involved with Knights Templar, Order of the Amaranth, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter and Council, severed as Dr. Smiles associated with the Grotto and was the Chapter Dad of La Porte DeMolay’s chapter for many years. He fascinated us with his passion for genealogy and traced our lineage back to the 1700’s. He enjoyed conversing about trains, maps and anything related southern cuisine. In Heaven, he is greeted by, his parents, George and Irene Sharp, his brother, George Sharp Jr., Sister-In-Law Fran Sharp, and a smiling grandson, Justin Keith Mathews. Suzy, their four-legged daughter was anxiously awaiting his arrival at the Pearly Gates, barking and wagging her tail. He is deeply missed by his loving and doting wife, Rosemary Sharp, two dedicated daughters, Judy Sharp and Sherry Bailey, and grandchildren Nathan Mathews and wife Barbara, and Kendall Mathews, his great granddaughters Addi Grace, Cadie Faith and Finley Elise as well as many many other friends and family.

Ronnie says, “If I don’t see you tomorrow, Hello!”.

Ronnie’s favorite color was red, to honor him we will all be wearing red at his End of Life Party. We ask you join us in honoring him by wearing red as well.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. Ronald's End of Life Party will begin at 2:00 PM.
