

We are here today to celebrate the life of Crawford Russell Orr. Russell was born on January 10, 1935 and went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2023 at the age of 88. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Carol Hamilton Orr of 49 years and their six children, Russell Orr and wife Sheryl, of Weatherford Texas, Alton Orr of Fort Worth, Texas, Theresa Orr Luton and husband Wes, of Dover, Tennessee, Eldon Davon Sivley and wife, Connie of Deer Park, Texas, Donna Walker of Deer Park, Texas and Brenda Wehrs of Deer Park, Texas. Their thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Crawford William and Helen Elizabeth Russell Orr and brother, James Orr.
Pallbearers are Aden Anderson, John Walker, Jason Orr, Joshua Anderson, Wade Sivley, Joe Sutryk, Keith Brooks and Billy Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Clay, Mikel Giles, James Walker and Tom Hamilton.
Russell was employed at the Texas Highway Department for 15 years and later at Lubrizol for 29 years. He was a member of Deer Park Jaycees, holding many offices locally and in the state. His contributions were acknowledged when he was named a JCI Senator by his peers. He served at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum. He entertained many and never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
He was very adventurous and excelled in many accomplishments. Education was greatly appreciated by Russell and he took advantage of college even after having children. Unable to complete high school, he later received a GED and attended Texas Tech where he took classes including Geometry and Trigonometry. At San Jacinto College, he excelled in Chemistry and English. He became an avid reader.
Hobbies included, golfing, gardening, bowling, flying, painting, wood-working, and sailing are but a few. Many family and friends profited from his eagerness to learn, his skill and his knowledge.
He was a devoted husband, father and an exceptional Uncle to so many. You never met Russell without hearing his encouraging words, “I’m just ducky!” May God Bless you, sweet Russell. We know you are truly Just Ducky.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. A Celebration of Russell's life will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Following, he will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM at Ryan Cemetery in Dayton, Texas 77535.
