Blanca Estella Martinez

Blanca Estella Martinez, lovingly known as “Blanch,” passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on December 25, 1954, in Pharr, Texas, where she was raised and formed the strong roots that guided her throughout her life.

Blanca pursued her education with dedication and pride. She graduated from PSJA High School and continued her studies at Pan American University. Her passion for learning led her to earn a Master’s degree in Teaching from Texas A&M University–Kingsville, a reflection of her lifelong commitment to education.

She devoted her career to teaching, a profession she truly loved, touching the lives of many students with her care and guidance.

Blanca was an active member of St. John Catholic Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She also found joy in gardening, a love instilled in her during childhood, and had a special appreciation for flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Narciso and Catalina Gallegos; and her brothers, Jorge Luis Gallegos, Narciso Gallegos Jr., and Mario Alberto Gallegos.

Blanca is survived by her loving husband, Ramiro Martinez Sr.; her children, Ramiro Martinez Jr., Cecilia Denise Martinez, and Michael Martinez; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication to family and education, and the love she shared with those around her.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas, on April 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 am. A Committal Service will take place at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas, on April 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
