David Ayers, beloved husband, son, brother, and stepfather, passed away after a courageous battle with adenocarcinoma stage IV cancer. David was born to Howard and Verna Ayers and grew up alongside his brothers, Steve and Larry Ayers.
After graduating high school, David joined the U.S. Navy, where he specialized in electronics, repairing trainer simulation machines for pilots. Following his honorable service, David moved to Bath, Maine, and worked in a variety of electrical and welding roles. It was during this chapter of his life that he met Janis, the love of his life.
David relocated to Florida, where he applied his expertise in electronics to install systems on yachts docked in Miami Beach. He and Janis were married at the 6th Street Church of Christ in Pompano Beach, Florida, and began their life together.
When career challenges arose, David and Janis decided to move to McAllen, Texas, with the support of JVC. In McAllen, David held various jobs until he found his calling as a postal worker with the U.S. Postal Service in Weslaco. Starting as a relief carrier, David earned his permanent route after four years, a role he truly cherished.
Tragically, David's time in this dream job was cut short by his diagnosis of stage IV adenocarcinoma. Despite this hardship, David remained a source of strength and inspiration to his loved ones.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Janis Ayers, his father Howard Ayers, his mother Verna Ayers, and his brothers Steve and Larry Ayers. David is also remembered fondly by his stepsons Anthony Stogner (wife Amy), Joel Stogner (girlfriend Rae), and Seth Stogner (wife Nayla), along with his grandson, Emory Stogner, and numerous extended family members.
David's memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Memorial service pending.
Memorial service will begin Monday, December 9, 2024 at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr, Texas at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
