Gilberto Castro

Gilberto Castro, resident of Pharr, TX, was born in 1960 and passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023. Today we celebrate the life of Gilberto Castro, known by his family and friends as, “Dad” “Babe” “ Brother” “Tio Gilbert/ Tio Beto” and "Castro". He met his wife and highschool sweetheart, Rosaisela who he shared 43 wonderful years with, alongside their 3 children. He is survived by his wife; Rosaisela Adame Castro, their 3 children; Gilbert Lee, Bianca Isela , Kriselda Alicia Castro, his 3 grandkids; Sonny Luciano, Aleghiea, Jordan; and numerous extended family. He was a very loving, kind man who dedicated his time to his family and making sure his home and children were his priority. Gilberto was well known not only in his neighborhood but many places because of his warm character, laugh, smile, and jokes. His tender ear rubbing and phrases, "What the Hillbillies!!" always brought a smile to our faces. Although sometimes off key, his favorite karaoke song "Sin Lado Izquierdo" will always bring up the late night memories we shared. He was a mentor to the young people that surrounded him, he taught them how to fish, shoot their first shotgun, change their oil, and tires. We can not forget his love for BBQ and how delicious his seasoning and special taste buds were. He loved being able to bring happiness to his loved ones with his food, and famous Micheladas! Castro was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve and did what he could to simply be a helping hand. His presence may no longer be with us but the teachings and wisdom he shared will be kept in our hearts. His love was a unique type that will be cherished for many years to come. His spirit and joy will always and forever be with us. Babe, Dad ,Grampy we will miss you tremendously! We love you Silly Rabbit ! ❤️ He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Herminia Castro; two brother's, Leopoldo and Rogelio Castro. Visitation will be held from 11am to 3 pm, with a service at 1 pm, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
