Maria began each day in prayer, grounding her life in gratitude and unwavering faith in God. She found beauty in simple moments—whether enjoying a cup of coffee at any hour of the day or sharing laughter through one of her famously funny jokes. Her warmth and humor were gifts she offered freely to everyone around her.
A talented and passionate creator, Maria expressed her artistry through handcrafted jewelry, pouring patience and creativity into each piece. She also delighted in cooking authentic Mexican dishes, lovingly preparing meals that brought her family together around the table and sometimes even on the dance floor as she loved to dance Cumbias. For Maria, birthdays were sacred celebrations—a reminder that every year of life was a precious gift from God. She embraced each one with joy and gratitude.
Maria had a spirited love for garage sales and was known for her remarkable ability to negotiate a price. Yet above all her hobbies and talents, her greatest joy was her family. She cherished her grandchildren deeply and treasured every opportunity to care for them, guide them, and shower them with love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Marcos Martinez; her son, Rafael Martinez; her sister Antonia Olvera Gonzalez; and her grandchild, Uriel Morales.
Maria leaves behind a loving legacy through her children: Pedro Martinez (Laura Martinez), Jose Marcos Martinez (Juana Maria Martinez), Marta Martinez, Roel Martinez (Claudia Martinez), and Teresa I. Roemhildt (Thomas Roemhildt).
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Brandon Martinez, Marisa Martinez, Jazmin Martinez, Rafael Martinez, Macy Martinez, Melanie Martinez, Leslie Martinez, Isabel Martinez, Leisha Martinez, Marcus Martinez, Genesis Martinez, Sebastiaan Martinez, Kayla Martinez, Roel Martinez II, Nicolas Martinez, Arman Martinez, Nancy Morales, Oswaldo Morales, Marco Morales, Jennifer Lee Romo and Jovanna Martinez.
Her love, faith, laughter, and strength will live on in each of them.
