Refugio Rivera Lira

Born in San Pedro Coahuila, Mexico he was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Refugio loved to watch TV as well spending time outdoors. He was a person that was very calm in nature and everyone around him felt it. He enjoyed being surrounded with family. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Belen Rivera; his sons, Pablo Ignacio Rivera and Rene Omar Rivera; his sister, Aurelia Rivera; and his brother Manuel Meza.

Refugio is survived by his six children, Blanca Rivera (Juan Carlos de la Garza), Rebecca Rvera, Juan Manuel (Isabel) Rivera, Artemio (Dora Elia) Rivera, Fernando Rivera (Francis Conchas), Refugio Rivera Jr. (Patricia Rivera).; His sixteen grandchildren, Kaeila Rivera, Lizeth Rivera, Abigail Rivera, Christie De La Garza, Emily Rivera, Cynthia Rivera, Jackeline Rivera, Barbara Silva, Juan Alberto Rivera, Fabian Rivera, Luis Carlos Jaramillo, Omar Sebastian De la Garza, Edgar Rivera, Martin Silva, Israel Rivera, and Jonathan Rivera.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday August 8, 2024, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. The Catholic Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Friday August 9, 2024, at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
