Born to Elias and Emma Lozano, Soledad was a devoted Christian mother, daughter, and sister who lived her life rooted in faith. She found joy in practicing and sharing the values of kindness, compassion, and service, always keeping Christ at the center of her life.
In 1964, Soledad earned her LVN license, beginning a lifelong vocation in nursing. She worked faithfully in hospitals, clinics, and private care, touching countless lives with her gentle hands and caring heart. Even after retiring in 2015 to focus on her health, she carried the spirit of a nurse in the way she loved and cared for those around her.
Outside of her service to others, Soledad cherished the simple and quiet joys of life—tending to her roses, feeding her two beloved cats, and caring for the many birds that visited her home. She loved word games, game shows, and the Hallmark channel. She also took deep pride in encouraging her children toward their own paths and vocations, celebrating their commitment and dedication to serving others in their community as both a teacher and nurse respectively.
Soledad is survived by her son, Ernesto Vasquez Jr.; her daughter, Jessica Vasquez (Alexander Garcia); and her former husband and lifelong friend, Ernesto Vasquez Sr. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Andres Lozano (Anna Lozano), Felipe Lozano (Carolina Lozano), and Elias Lozano (Sonia Lozano); her sisters, Dolores “Lola” Maldonado (Mario Maldonado) , Elia Elisa Gonzales (Albert), and Maria Andrea Garza (Nestor Garza +); and many nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her memory.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Emma Lozano; and her sisters, Lolita, Emma Trinidad Lozano, and Laura Elizabeth Rueda.
Soledad’s life was one of faith, family, and service. She will be remembered for her steadfast devotion, her gentle spirit, and her enduring love.
