Benny Foy Phillips

SFC Benny F. Phillips U.S. Army (Ret) 70 of Phenix City, Alabama died Thursday March 13, 2014 at the Columbus Hospice House. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. ET Monday, March 17, 2014 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, with Pastor David Rathel officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mr. Phillips was born January 23, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia. He is the son of the late Jewel T. and Mamie Kennedy Jacobs. He retired from the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict and then went on to retire from Swift Textiles. He was a member of the Rivertown Church in Columbus, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years Brenda Blair Phillips of Phenix City, AL, Children: Thomas Mark Phillips and Douglas Matthew Phillips both of Columbus, GA, Grandchildren: Austin James Phillips of Smiths, AL, Danielle Nicole Phillips of Columbus, GA, Siblings: Bill & Judy Phillips of Delaware, Betty Hopson of Salem, AL, Sherrill & Gary Nolin of Columbus, GA and a host of extended family & friends in Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Kentucky.
