Clovis Thurman Shaver, Jr. passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at his home in Opelika, Alabama. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 P.M. EDT Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama. A private interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Mr. Shaver was born August 18, 1945 in Asheville, North Carolina; son of the late Clovis T. Shavers, Sr. and Mary Corbett Shaver. He served in the U.S. Army and later was an over the road truck driver. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He enjoyed Amateur Radio and loved gospel music, especially the Chuck Wagon Gang.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice R. Shaver.
Survivors include his son, William O. Shaver (Melinda), James Mathis, William Weldon, Chris Gresham and Lyn Gresham; sister, Laura Gilmore, brothers, Tommy Shaver, Larry Shaver, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and his dogs Trixie, Sassy and Lil Man.
