Dorothy Murphy George, 88 of Phenix City, Alabama died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Columbus, Georgia. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday October 9, 2017 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with David Dollar officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL.
Mrs. George was born January 12, 1929 in Columbus, Georgia; daughter of the late Rev. H.J. and Ruby Walters Kelly. She was retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company and was a member of Whiterock Freewill Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama. Mrs. George loved to dance. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Murphy and her daughter, Marie Murphy Faust.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Sanders, sister, Deborah Tamor, brother, Douglas Kelly, four grandchildren, Greg Sanders, John Faust, Grady Sanders, Misty Palmer and five great grandchildren.
