Edith L. McManus

Edith L. McManus, 78 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. EDT Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Bethany Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL with burial to follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Serving as pall bearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. McManus was born June 28, 1934 in Jackson County, Alabama, daughter of the late Harvey and Clara Matheney McGowan. She was retired from the Phenix City Carpet Mill and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Marshall McManus.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Marshall McManus of Phenix City, AL, children, Pat Brannon (Billy) of Phenix City, AL, Mike McManus (Karen) of Smiths Station, AL, Cindy Bonner (Ray) of Phenix City, AL, Chuck McManus (Molly) of Midland, GA, brothers, Junior McGowan of Macon, GA, Roy McGowan of LaGrange, GA, sister, Violet Pursley and her daughter, Darlene Brown both of LaGrange, GA, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, special friends, Shirley McLemore, Merlin Dunn and Jessie Jones and many nieces, nephews and other relatives an friends.
