A gathering for family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, located at 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama, in Lakewood Hall. This event is scheduled for February 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A private burial will take place at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama.
Mrs. Palmer was the daughter of the late Alvin and Lilly Daniels Mathis. She was retired from Southern Phenix Textiles, was a member of Central Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia and is a breast cancer survivor.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include four children, Wayne Hughes (Peggy), Dennis Hughes ( late wife, Wanda), Janice Englehart (late husband, Don) and Linda Jenkins; also sister, Jean Allen, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
