Frank C. Newman, 71, of Smiths Station, AL passed away March 11, 2021 at home surrounded by family. A visitation will be held from 12 PM to 1 PM at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL on Monday, March 15, 2021 and the funeral will follow at 1 PM with a graveside service in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Pastor Marvin Minton officiating.
Frank was born June 28, 1949 in Phenix City, AL, the son of the late Rufus Carlton Newman and Zera Virginia Kirven Newman. Frank was retired from Columbus Consolidated Government. He served six years in the Navy as an Aviation Technician.
Frank served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Discipleship Training Teacher for many years at Crawford Road Baptist Church. Frank loved God, his family, and his church family. He had a gift for sharing God's love and always making others smile. Frank had a passion for working in the yard and photography.
Frank is survived by his wife Carolyn Newman of 46 years, one daughter Kristie Newman Goodson and her husband Kevin D. Goodson, two grandsons Tyler O. Goodson and Dalton C. Goodson.
Frank was also predeceased by his brother John Charles Newman. He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Susan Newman 2-1-1977 thru 2-3-1977.
Honorary Pallbearer's are Dalton Goodson, John Goodson, Justin Goodson, Tyler Goodson, Danny Kirkland, Jason McCall, and Zane McAnulty. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Deacon Benevolence fund at Crawford Road Baptist Church.
