Harold L. "Hal" Turner, 65, of Salem, Alabama, died Saturday September 29, 2012 in Phenix City. Funeral services with U.S. Navy military honors will be 1:00pm EST Tuesday October 2nd in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867, with the Reverend Grant Parker officiating. Private interment will be in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12;00pm until 1:00pm EST at the funeral home.
Mr. Turner was born November 26, 1946 in Austell, Georgia, son of the late Sam Turner and Hazel Bone Turner. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy, including service in Vietnam. Mr. Turner retired from Lockheed Martin Marietta after more than 25 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Karen C. Turner of Salem, son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Aimee Turner, daughter, Hallie Turner and grandchildren, Elyria, Eli and Paisley. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
