Jack Melvin Jones

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Jack will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, AL 368682548.

Mr. Jones was born July 25, 1935 in Pigeon Creek, Alabama; son of the late Pless and Trudy Sims Jones. He honorably served in the Marines as well as the Air Force. He pursued his continuing education at Auburn University, then graduated with a Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. He was a band director for many schools and Minister of Music for several churches in the past. He later retired from the Bullock County Correctional Facility in Union Springs, Alabama as a Social Worker.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eladia I. Jones, and his brother Carl Jones.

Survivors include his four daughters, Cindy Miller (Ben), Lisa Ross, Debbie Jones, Valerie Childs (Jeff); grandchildren, Benjamin Miller, Ashley Ross, Michael Jones (Candice), Jenna Jones, Jason Plott (Rebecca), numerous great grandchildren and nephew, Tony Jones (Ann) and his niece, Sissy Jones.

The family will remember him as a loving and caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
