A private graveside service will occur Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd., Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Mrs. Shelley was born September 26, 1943 in Columbus, Georgia; daughter of the late Edward Monroe Williamson and Ila Mae Riley Williamson.
Jeaneva Shelley was married to her high school sweetheart, Bill for 40 years before he passed away in 2001. She had 3 children and lived in Phenix City for most of her life. She was very involved at Glenwood School as a parent volunteer and board member. She was also on the board of the local Boys Clubs of America where she was named Woman of the Year. Her talents as a bookkeeper were at several local businesses in Columbus including Chancellor's Men's Store. She was Owner/Operator of the Skate A Rama for 27 years. She had a special fondness for her skaters and employees. Often referred to as the "Skate Lady", she loved to see her old skaters come back all grown up with their own children so they could learn to skate. Later, she became involved with the Red Hat Society, and also led a Grief Ministry for Women.
Her greatest joy was being "Nana" to Leslie, Ashlea, Luke, Ila, and Elli-Rose. She was blessed even further when she became "GG" to the great grandchildren. She was always surrounded by the love of a child.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Shelley, her sister, Jeanette Gaylor and her granddaughter, Eliza Shelley.
Survivors include her three children, Lynne Shelley Atchley and husband, Steve, Leanne Jones and Mark A. Shelley; her loving grandchildren, Leslie Williams (Chris Williams), Ashlea Jones (Steven Stanford), Luke Sheffield, Ila Shelley, Elli-Rose Shelley; great grandchildren, Hannah Watson, Jacob Watson, Brice Watson, Noah Watson, Mason Watson, Lynnlea Stanford, Noah Sheffield and great great grandson, Theos Starley and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shelley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
