Genia “Jeanie” Pattillo Rivas, 72, of Athens, Georgia, passed away Saturday February 23, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am (EST) Thursday February 28th in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N/280 W, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867. Interment will be 2:00pm (EST) in the Bethel United Methodist Church
Cemetery in Marion County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rivas was born October 7, 1940 in Marion County, Georgia, daughter of the late George Pattillo and Mattie Maloy Pattillo. Other than her parents Mrs. Rivas is preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Hendricks and grandson, Adam Bellesfield.
Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Felix Rivas, Jr. of Athens, GA., daughter, Deborah Bellesfield of Thomaston, GA., brother, O.B. Pattillo and wife, Jeannette, of Phenix City, sister, Vera Temples of Phenix City, granddaughters, Tara Hendricks and Hannah Hendricks, several nephews, other relatives and friends.
