Joyce Colwell Baxley, age 82, of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, peacefully in her sleep. Visitation for family and friends for Joyce Colwell Baxley will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service with Pastor Jim Gilboy will occur Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:00 PM EST at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
Mrs. Baxley was born August 11, 1939 in Columbus, Georgia; daughter of the late William and Mildred Louise Anthony Colwell.
She is a loving wife and mother and is survived by her husband, Jim Baxley of 40 years. She also leaves behind her brother, Tony Colwell (Kay) of Smiths Station, Al, sister, Victoria Bihorel of Tampa, FL, children, Becky Ellis of Tampa, FL, Beth Bradley (Nathan) of Smiths Station, AL, Tena Williams of Gulf Shores, AL, Patty Krisher (Chris) of Brementon, WA, Rick Baxley of Smiths Station, AL, five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nephew, Bryan Brossett and niece, Elizabeth Robles both of Tampa, FL.
