Katherine Hope Vaughan, 65 of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday March 9, 2011 at her home. A memorial service will be held today, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL with Charles Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vaughan was born December 21, 1945 in Brookport, IL, daughter of the late Howard B. and Miriam Holifield Faughn. She was a member of the Phenix City Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jeffery and Jeremy Vaughan, granddaughter, Rebecca Jackson, brothers, Fred Faughn and Jack Faughn.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Vaughan of Phenix City, AL, daughters, Christina Marie Vaughan of Blueford, IL, Laura Hope Gregg of Chattanooga, TN, Kara Beth Barrett of Paris, TN, sons, Matthew William Vaughan of Columbus, GA, James Patrick Vaughan of Pasadena, MD, brother, Howard Walton Faughn of Metropolis, IL, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
