Larry D. Kirkland, 66 of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Columbus Hospice House surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held 3:00pm ET Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 US HWY 280 W, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Freddie Johnson officiating.
Mr. Kirkland was born October 16, 1946 in Baxley, Georgia. He is the son of the late Jack and Annie Futch Kirkland. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City, AL and was employed with Milan Express.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kathy Scott Kirkland of Smiths Station, AL, children, Stephanie Tischler and husband Joel of Buena Vista, GA, Angela Jarrett of Columbus, GA, Angel Gibson and husband Brad of Panama City, FL, Larry Scott Kirkland of Smiths Station, AL, two sisters, Eleanor Oberry of Baxley, GA, Patricia Sikes of Pooler, GA, brother, Stevie Futch of Baxley, GA, five grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
