Margaret W. Boyd

Margaret W. Boyd, 88 of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. CST at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Louisville, AL with burial to follow in the church cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boyd was born May 23, 1923 in Pike County, Alabama, daughter of the late Frank and Thetie Harden Wilks. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Louisville, AL. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah Boyd.

Survivors include her daughter, Rita Kincel of Lakeland, FL, granddaughter, Gerri Cherry and husband Rob of Wichita Falls, TX, great grandson, Johnathan Cherry of Ft. Sill, OK, four brothers, Melvin Wilks, Robert Wilks and wife Leola, Sam Wilks and wife Amy, Virgil Wilks and wife Jean, sisters, Mildred Johnson, Mable Carter, Ann Slaughter, Kathy Jacob and husband Jake, sister-in-law, Melia Wilks, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
