Mary Ruth Poole Williams, 66 of Valley, AL died Sunday December 22, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Thursday, December 26th in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. Dr. David Kees will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00am until 12pm ET at the funeral home.
Mrs. Williams was born January 6, 1947 in Montgomery, Alabama. She is the daughter of the late Fred and Elma Screws Poole. She is the owner of the Lee County Flea Market, a 1965 graduate of Central High School, a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Smiths Station Ruritan Club, the Lake Harding Association and former member of the Lakewood Baptist Church Red Hat Ladies.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Steve Purvis, daughter, Rhonda Evans Jones and husband Barry, step-son, Jason Purvis, step-daughter, Amy Purvis Fretwell, grandchildren, Ben and Jensen Jones, Hunter Purvis, Savannah and Jackson Fretwell, two sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren from a former marriage.
