Salem, AL -Mickey Joanne Stoneback, 70, of Salem, AL, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025. Visitation will be held Friday, April 4, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. EST at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, AL.
Mrs. Stoneback was a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who always put her family first. Mrs. Stoneback worked as a dedicated educator in the Muscogee County School District, touching the hearts and minds of countless children throughout her career. She often gave more than she had, driven by a deep compassion and desire to ensure everyone around her had the necessities they needed. Mrs. Stoneback was preceded in death by husband of 49 years, Samuel Stoneback, her parents Jackmo Pippo and Marion Chandler. Survivors of Mrs. Stoneback include her; four sons Joseph Earl (Debbie) Stoneback, Samuel Adam (Jessica) Stoneback, Robert Anthony (Rocky) Stoneback-Lopez, and Jason Nicholas (Lacy) Stoneback; one brother-in-law Henry Stoneback; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren. She was also blessed with several nieces, nephews and their families. Family was of the utmost importance to Mrs. Stoneback, including her love for many pets.
Mrs. Stoneback enjoyed her days with personal devotional time, playing cards, board games and keeping up with her family through daily conversations.
