Col (Ret) Paul Patrick Gleason, 76 of Smiths Station, Alabama, formerly of Dothan, Alabama passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at his home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held 9:30am, Friday, June 17, 2022 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City, AL. A private burial will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
Mr. Gleason was born March 5, 1946 in Scranton, Pennsylvania; son of late Paul R. Gleason and Mary McTiernan Basar. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army for 27 years to include two terms in Vietnam. An exemplary soldier earning multiple combat citations including the bronze stars. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, building and remodeling. He also had a true passion for technology and studied mathematics just for fun. His faith was a very important and was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Dothan, AL.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Gleason; sons, John Paul Gleason (Dawn), Brian Gleason; daughters, Michelle and Kelly, stepdaughters, Brandi Schwall (John) and Brooke Burney (Juan); brother, Ronnie Gleason; grandchildren, Hunter, Brendan, Madison, Annemarie, Liam, Finnian, Tiernan, Bailey, Scout, Braylen, Asia, Jadah, and Juan II.
