Petronia "Tronie" Allen, 80 of Phenix City, Alabama died Sunday May 8, 2016 at Parkwood Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. EDT Friday, May 13, 2016 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Hank Reeves officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mrs. Allen was born February 7, 1936 in Blakely, Georgia; daughter of the late Cadell and Fannie Smith Dowdney. She was retired from Swift Spinning Mill and baptist by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Allen, Sr.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Jean Alexander (Grela) of Dallas, GA, sons; James D. Allen, Jr. (Benita) of Phelps, NY, Marcus Allen (Lisa) of Fort Mitchell, AL, special niece, Gloria Helm, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
