Funeral Services will be held Sunday October 8, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Cottonton Baptist Church in Cottonton, Al. The family will receive friends at the church before and after the service.
Mr. Boyd was born October 21, 1936 in Rochester, NY., the son of Edward W. and Edith Plain Boyd. He Retired after 20 years as an AMEC (E-7) in the US Navy having served in Vietnam. He later retired from Civil Service as an Aircraft Sheet Metal mechanic. He was a member and former Deacon of Cottonton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joanne Parker and Patricia Swingle and a brother Jack Boyd.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Mullis Boyd of Pittsview. Two sons, Richard G. Boyd, Jr. of Pittsview and Brian Boyd of Columbus. Two daughters, Deborah L. Boyd of Jacksonville, Fl., and Michelle Moak and her husband John of Maryville, TN. A brother Donald Boyd, Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
