Scott James Watson

Scott James Watson, 85 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. EST Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. unitl 8:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City.

Mr. Watson was born August 28, 1931 in Babour County, Alabama; son of the late Ollis James Watson and Theresey Irene Fillingim Watson. He was a pipe fitter in the Plumbers Fitters Local #52 and was a member of Linwood Baptist Church in Columbus. He was a member of the Wilson Williams Lodge #351, Alcazar Shrine Temple in Montgomery, AL, Vashti Chapter 431 OES in Lanett, AL and a member if the Scottish Rite Temple in Columbus, GA.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Grace Barron and brothers, Paul Watson and Ned Watson.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ima Jean King Watson, daughter, Deborah Blackwood and husband Kenneth, son Michael Watson and wife Joyce all of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Kristi Green and husband Jimmy of Harris County, GA, Scott Blackwood and wife Tiffany of Phenix City, AL, Kelly Blackwood of Phenix City, AL, Shane Watson and wife Tori of Hamilton, GA, Amber Boswell and husband Blake of Salem, AL; seven great grandchildren and his brother, Bobby Watson and wife Susan of Valley, AL.
