
Phenix City, AL- Thelma Lillie Culpepper, 93 Of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Saturday October 25, 2014. She was born to the late Montie and Cassie Woods Gillman on August 19, 1921. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, John William “Bud” Culpepper, her very loving grandmother, Katie King and her adoring aunt, Ethel King. Thelma and Bud were devoted to one another and to their family. She and Bud loved to dance. One of their favorite songs to dance to was Glen Miller’s “In The Mood”. Thelma was an accomplished bowler having bowled a perfect score of 300 on more than one occasion. She loved to cook for her family and was famous for her wonderful homemade biscuits. Thelma was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. She was a faithful Christian. Thelma was a retired vice president’s secretary for
AFLAC. She was known for her incredibly fast typing skills and attention to detail. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Holland and husband Thomas of Orlando, FL, Sherrie Rivera and husband Pier of Phenix City, AL, son, Rodney Culpepper and wife Trina of Winder, GA, 13 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the Vitas Hospice House in Orlando, Florida for the gentle care they provided during her final moments.
