Wanda Ann Hughes

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, located in Lakewood Hall, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867, on January 21, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service will take place at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 7807 Lee Rd. 246, Smiths Station, Alabama, 36877, on January 21, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm.

Wanda is the daughter of the late Dimond "Buddy" Harvey Elkins and Helen Cumi Elkins. She was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church and was a private day care provider. She is also a breast cancer survivor since 1995.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Miranda Ann Hughes, brother, Jerry Lamar Elkins and sister, Linda Nagy.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Dennis Hughes, sons, Terry Nathaniel Hughes, his wife, Pauline and children Carter & Aynsley, Robin Anthony Hughes (Amanda Pendergrass) and his son, Jacob Devin Hughes, also her daughter, Heather Mary Helen Horton and her husband, Willie along with her sister, Vickie Meadows, numerous nieces and nephews.
