I love you, Daddy always and forever. Thank you for being so wonderful and living a life where Christ could be seen in you.

Every other Saturday, you could always count on Uncle Arree to say how much he looked forward to and enjoyed our family breakfast meetings. He would make every effort to be in attendance even when probably he should have been at home recuperating. In addition to breaking bread together, rotating from the youngest to the eldest, we were each assigned a Saturday to bring a Bible lesson. Uncle Arree diligently kept track of who was next in line, and you might even have received a reminder call when it was your turn. It'll be a little different without Uncle Arree being there physically sharing his stories, friendly banter, and words of wisdom, but he inspired a sense of his love of the Lord and for his family that transcends time. Yes, he will be missed, but his memory and presence will always be in our hearts. His greatest desire was that we, as a family, would continue to meet on a regular basis thus continuing on with a legacy of love that has spanned over time.  Family is the greatest gift! Let's keep the tradition alive! Love you Uncle!

About five years ago when I was pursuing my Masters Degree at Texas A&M, I sat a table with University presidents and felt as if I didnt belong. When my Grandfather heard of this, he called me the next day and told me otherwise. He mentioned to me how I belonged at the table and how I had every right to be there. Since then, I have sat at tables with Presidents of many universities, dined with Presidents of this country and other countries. Today I am back in Texas pursuing my PhD in Education and his words still ring true even today. "You belong there...because god has placed you there.".

My daddy "fought the good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith". Honored, blessed and thankful to be your daughter, Kayoree.

Truly a great man has gone on to glory. He was such a positive influence to so many people. He was a fun counselor and chaperone on our youth conference trips when we were younger, and gave wise counsel and encouragement when we were older. He will certainly be missed. Family, be strong. Take comfort in knowing that we will see him again. You will shed tears now, but one day you will think of him and just smile. All of the wonderful things he said, and taught, and did are right there with you always. Grandpa I'm going to miss you I will never forget your words of wisdom. I joined the service because I wanted to see the world. I stayed in for 24 year because that's what you did. I can still hear your voice telling me to stay in after I told you I was getting out. You said don't quit now that's not what we do. Until we meet again Grandfather, until we meet again I love you today, tomorrow and until my last dying breath.
