

Calvin was born on July 15, 1925 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He proudly served in WWII with the 102nd Infantry Division, Combat Europe. After the war, He met and married Jeanette Kalous in 1948 when both were students at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
In college, he pursued his interest and study of music at both University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and at Columbia University, New York. He received his doctorate degree at Indiana University in counseling psychology in 1955. Calvin was on the faculty at Northern Iowa University in Cedar Falls, Iowa until he joined the faculty at Arizona State University in 1963 until his retirement.
His favorite activities included swimming, which he enjoyed his entire life, and later, both sailing and golf.
Calvin is survived by his three children Jeanie Ghose ( Mark), Pieter Daane ( Joanne ) and Elizabeth Stolle (Carl), by his grandchildren Sarah and Kevin Ghose ; Calvin and Matthew Daane; Jackson and Ben Stolle, and by his great-grandchildren Ryder and Mila Ghose, Colin and Julia Stolle, Jack and Magdalena Daane. He is predeceased by his wife, Jeanette, his grandson Derek Ghose, and his brothers Jullian, Merritt, and Glen.
A remembrance gathering of the family will be held at a future date.
