James E Brooks Sr was born in Phoenix, Arizona on 11/12/1943 to Father Willie Lee Brooks and Mother Mattie Mae Brooks-Abraham. To this union six other children formed the nucleus of this family: Willie Lee Jr, Robert Brooks, Leroy Brooks, Joanne Brooks Callier-Jones, Elrey Brooks, and Johnny Mae Brooks.
Jimmy Brooks attended the old Okemah elementary school located on 40th St, north of Broadway. He then attended Percy L Julian middle school, he then attended South Mountain high school, a proud rebel.
Then Jimmy found his true love for life, making money for Transworld Airlines at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport in 1962.
Shortly after, he met his first wife, Catherine Craig, and to this union three children were born: James Brooks Jr, Marvin Brooks, and Crystal Brooks. Also, during this time another Brooks, Stephanie was born to the union of Jimmy and Annie Vaughn.
Then Jimmy met and married his true love, Patricia Jones in 1974. To this union, two girls were born: Donette and Dana Brooks.
Jimmy was employed with TWA and American Airlines from 1965 to 2012, with stops in Phoenix, Boston, and St Louis.
Jimmy loved his sports. He was a huge fan of all teams in Boston, the Celtics, Redsox, and the Patriots. He even loved the Arizona Cardinals when they were winning.
Jimmy always had a love for life and friends. He had so many friends that loved him and Pat.
He was a loyal member of the Elk's Lounge, American Legion, the Sportsman's Lounge, and Packy's Bar in Boston, Massachusetts.
Jimmy was preceded in death by both parents and all siblings except for Robert Brooks Sr, his big brother. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Brooks. He leaves to cherish his memory to his kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Jimmy left this world on February 7th surrounded by family and friend, the way it should've been.
