Our precious mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Minerva Eva Gabler Byrne, a woman of great faith, exemplary character, and genuine love entered her eternal Heavenly home July 26, 2020. Our hearts rejoice to know that she was welcomed with open arms by her sweetheart, Jesse Dale, sons, Roy Dale and Ronald Nolan, as well as countless other beloved family members.
Minerva was born to Fred and Juliana Deschner Gabler on September 28, 1923 in Houston, Texas. She was the youngest sibling of four; she had two brothers, Martin and Fred, and a sister, Ruby. She felt blessed to be born into such a Godly, loving family. She only spoke German the first five years of her life, learning English when she started school. Her children and each following generation loved to hear her sing "Jesus Loves Me" and "Silent Night" in German, even into the last months of her life.
She graduated from John H. Reagan High School and shortly after met her future husband, Jesse Dale. They were married on June 29, 1941, and enjoyed 74 years together. Minerva became a loving and gracious mother to four children, two sons, Roy Dale and Ronald Nolan, and two daughters, Patricia Kay and Brenda Fay. She had sixteen grandchildren, Shawn, Lenore, Ronda, Jana, Tess, Kenneth Jr., Tanya, Lonnie, Dale, Barbara, Lisa, Cheryl, David, Kady, Jesse, and Kyle. She also had forty-one great grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
Minerva's passion was to minister to others, and she proved that by being a devoted caretaker, supportive and involved Pastor's wife, Youth Leader, Sunday School teacher, and loyal friend. All who knew her were blessed by her beautiful smile and unconditional acceptance. To her family, she will always be remembered as an unwavering source of Grace and Love. Hundreds, if not thousands of lives, known and unknown, have been touched by one of God's greatest Prayer Warriors.
