Reuben James Hernandez

Reuben attended Cesar Chavez High School, laying the foundation for his future endeavors. Throughout his career, he was dedicated to his role as a customer service specialist for Sutter Health, where he was appreciated for his commitment and professionalism.

On July 26, 2008, Reuben became devoted to Vanessa Marie Bermudez, with whom he shared a deep and enduring partnership. Together, they built a loving family, blessed with their children: Bibiana Bermudez, Elias Hernandez, and Alexia Hernandez.

Reuben had a passion for music, reading, writing, gaming, and traveling. He cherished family time, long drives, and held a profound love for the Lord Jesus Christ, which guided him throughout his life. His role as a father was his highest priority, and his children were his greatest pride.

Reuben was joyful, bright, and loving. He was goofy and always had a giant smile on his face. He had a big heart, and was the life of the party. You could hear his laugh from across a room, a laugh that will be deeply missed by all who knew it well.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Vanessa Marie Bermudez; his children, Bibiana Bermudez, Elias Hernandez, and Alexia Hernandez; his father, Richard P. Hernandez; his grandmother, Lupe Hernandez; and his siblings, Richie Hernandez, Salina Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez, and Nicholas Cruz.

A visitation will be held on July 15, 2025, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, located at 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am at the same location.

The funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S Rural Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282, on July 15, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Following the mass, a graveside service will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens.

Reuben's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends, who will continue to celebrate his life and the joy he brought into theirs.
