

Ronaldo G Sanchez began his journey to heaven on May 12, 2015 in Guadalupe, AZ. Ronaldo was born on June 30, 1927 in Tempe, AZ to Modesto Sanchez and Refugia Garcia. He worked for the Tempe Elementary School District #3 for 44 years. In 1948, he began working as a custodian at Guadalupe School, which is now known today as Frank Elementary School. In 1967 he then became a district plumber. During his tenure he was promoted to the Grounds Crew Foreman, which he continued through his retirement in 1992. Ronaldo contributed and dedicated much of his life to his family and to the progression of the town of Guadalupe. His accomplishments are not only recognized by his family, but by the town itself. The multipurpose room at Frank Elementary School was dedicated to Ronaldo and his wife, Elena Acuña Sanchez. He surveyed all the streets, and helped install the waterlines to many of the homes still standing. He not only helped build the firehouse that still stands, but helped organize and initiate the volunteer fireman program, at which he volunteered for as well. He was the PTA president for an extended period of time for Frank school and remained involved with the local boy scouts troops. He played a significant role in the merging of Guadalupe School with the Tempe Elementary School District. He was an advocate for higher education. Amongst his family, this value has been passed through each generation encompassing a sum of over 100 years of education. He is preceded in death by his wife Elena A. Sanchez; his son, Ronaldo A. Sanchez; his daughter, Renee Alvarado; and his grandson, Vicente A. Sanchez. He is survived by his 6 children; Ernest A. Sanchez, Refugia Romero, Joe A. Sanchez, Irma Yucupicio, Abel A. Sanchez, and Elena Ambris; 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great, grandchild. He will be remembered as a kind, patient, calm, humorous, and honest man. His life was fulfilled with passion for his family, spirituality, power of education, and the development of his community. He left his mark and will be remembered and respected for his passions that are still recognized. He was an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Memorial Services will take place at Resthaven Park Mortuary & Cemetery located at 4310 E. Southern Ave Phoenix, AZ 85042 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm; Rosary at 6:00pm. Services will take place on Monday May 18, 2015 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, located at 5445 E. Calle San Angelo Guadalupe, AZ 85283. All are welcome to join the Sanchez family as they begin their journey in the celebration of the life of Ronaldo G Sanchez.
