Ruben was born in Edinburg, Texas, on June 27, 1943. He was a dedicated employee of the City of Phoenix for over 35 years. Ruben was a die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching baseball locally in Guadalupe.
Ruben is survived by his wife Antonia, three children; Sophie, Sagrario and Francisco "Kiko" (Shannon), daughter-in-law Pam, older brother Bacillo "Chilo", and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Felipa, siblings; Francisca, Gloria, Roberto, Elida and Estela, and children; Gilbert, Ruben Jr. "Jumby" and Rebecca.
Ruben's family will host a funeral service on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, starting at 9:30 a.m. for viewing, 10:00 a.m. for a Rosary and 11:00 a.m. for services with the burial at 12:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at the Tempe Elks Lodge #2251 at 2320 S. Hardy Dr., Tempe.
