

Virginia Irene Hoffman – 96, died in Christ on August 25, 2024 peacefully in her home under Hospice care. Born September 9, 1927 in Phoenix she was a native Arizonan. She graduated from Tempe Union High School in 1945. She married Leonard Hoffman on November 26, 1952. Their marriage lasted 59 years until his death in 2012.
Virginia worked as a bookkeeper for several different businesses. She was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes for herself and many others. She bowled for many years and was a close friend of her long standing team, traveling literally from coast to coast to bowl in national tournaments. She loved to make cookies by the hundreds. She was an active member of the Lakeshore Bible Church of God in Tempe, serving as Treasurer for many years. She had walked hundreds of miles with friends.
Her biggest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, Grandma and Great Grandma. She selflessly served them in countless ways and found lasting joyful significance with her family.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Louise (Scott) Duscher of Wickenburg, AZ; son Michael (Linda) Hoffman of Oregon, IL; 4 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 brother, Alvin Kitts of Tempe, AZ; and 1 sister, Lillian Loper of Queen Creek, AZ. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Leonard, by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 31, 2024 with Pastor Joe Myers officiating. Carr-Tenney Resthaven East assisted the family with arrangements.
