

He attended Virgil Junior High School and went on to graduate from Garfield High School.
It was at Garfield that he was first introduced to printing, a trade that he eventually pursed with
advanced classes at LA Trade Tech. He worked many years in the printing industry and became
a master printer and craftsman. Throughout his life, Armando valued and appreciated the craft
and work of printers. His was a keen eye for print and the effort and expertise required to produce quality products.
Armando loved Corvettes and classic cars. He was a regular at local classic car
shows and was proud owner of a classic 1995 Chevy Impala.
He met the love of his life. Rosemarie Pallan while both were students at Garfield.
They married in 1964 and were blessed to celebrate 50+ years of marriage. They have two daughters
Yvette and Annette and had a son that died in infancy. Armando had four grandchildren,
James, Jessica and Julie Tanner and Nathaniel Gomez and a great-grandchild, Emma.
He was a loving and giving father and grandfather, known for his famous barbequed steaks,
loves mariachis, Lady Gaga, martinis and ice cream. He loved telling stories and events without
missing any minute or detail or element. Armando developed many friends over the years.
All will miss his characteristic “What’s happening” greeting followed by that infectious smile.
