Today makes it a year that my brother Raul has passed away. A day doesn't go by that I don't think about him and I know in my heart that he's in peace with my mom and dad. Now that he's gone, he will never be forgotten. I will always love him with all my heart. I will always treasure the good memories we had as we were growing  up and every memory will be saved in my heart.

Raul ..it's been a year since you left us, but to me it feels like yesterday. I still cry at night thinking of you. But i know your with my mom and dad. That is what keeps me going everyday.  None the less I still miss your laugh , and how you use to make a joke about everything.  I miss you when we all get together and that feeling that we are not complete. Raul I close my eyes and see you running and playing. We sure had fun growing up. I remember the day you came out in the L.A. Times because you caught the big bass at Echo park Lake.on opening day for fishing. I know your up in heaven waiting for the rest of us to continue the fun and games. You had such a beautiful smile and I'm sure your looking down at us and smiling. Love you Raul.

Uncle Raul how is it up above in the gates of heaven? Peaceful and quiet, I bet. Just sending out this message to let you know that you are being missed and you are in my ❤..... 

I wrote you a poem that I hope you like and I am sending it out to you. The poem starts off like this......

God looked down upon the earth, and saw my uncle's tired face. He knew my uncle was suffering and in pain. His garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew the road was getting rough, and the hill's were hard to climb. He closed his eyelids, and whispered Peace be found. It broke our heart's to lose you, but we all went with  you, the day God called you home.

This special poem that I wrote is dedicated to my uncle who will always have a place in my heart forever.

LETTING GO

You're still here in my heart and mind,
still making me laugh cause your stories live on.

RAUL'S EULOGY

RAUL GREW UP IN A FAMILY OF SIX.  HE WAS THE SECOND OLDIES HAS TWO BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS.

HE GRADUATE FROM ROSEVELT H.S. AND ATTENDED TRADE TECH COLLEGE WHERE HE RECEIVED HIS  A'S DEGREE IN ELECTRONICS.  AFTER COLLEGE HE WAS DRAFTED IN THE MARINES FOUGHT IN VIETNAM.  HE MARRIED AND RAISED THREE CHILDREN.

MY BROHTER WAS ALWAYS A HARD WORKER, NEVER WAS SCARED TO GET HIS HANDS DIRTY.  MY PARENTS DIDN'T HAVE THE  MONEY TO GIVE HIM FOR COLLEGE.  HE TOOK ODD JOBS TO PAY FOR COLLEGE.  ONE SUMMER HE EVEN PICKED ORANGES TO PAY FOR HIS BOOKS.

HE WAS ALWAYS TRYING TO DO HIS BEST TO MAKE THINGS BETTER FOR OUR FAMILY.  HE TRIED TO MAKE OUR BLACK & WHITE TV COLOR, BY ADDING A PLASTIC SCREEN COVER THAT WAS HALF BLUE AND HALF GREEN.  ALL IT DID WAS MAKE EVERYONES FACES GREEN & BLUE.  IT DIDN'T WORK OUT LIKE HE PLANED, BUT WE APPRICATE HIS EFFORT.

RAUL WAS NOT A SELFISH MAN ALWAYS THOUGHT OF OTHERS BEFORE HIMSELF.  HE WAS IN VIETNAM WHERE HE SAW HIS FRIENDS DIE IN COMBAT & COULD OF EASILY HAVE BEEN KILLED HIMSELF, YET HE STILL WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO REMEMBER ME ON MY BIRTHDAY AND SEND ME A BEAUTIFUL VIETNAMESE DOLL.  HE WOULD SEND MY MOTHER MONEY MAKING SURE THE FAMILY WAS TAKEN CARE OF EVEN THOUGH HE WAS IN A ROUGH SITUTION.

HE WAS A VERY GIVING PERSON NEVER EXPECTED ANYTHING IN RETURN.   HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF EVERYBODY ELSE BEFORE HIMSELF.  HE WAS A GOOD SON, FATHER, BROTHER AND TO MANY  A GOOD FRIEND.  I KNOW HE IS IN PEACE WITH MY MOTHER AND FATHER.  HE IS NO LONGER SUFFERING IN PAIN.

I JUST WANTED TO TELL HIM I LOVE HIM, I AM GOING TO MISS HIM.  SOMEDAY HIS BROTHERS , AND SISTERS WILL SEE HIM AGAIN .  WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN AS A FAMILY.  I WANTED  TO LET HIM KNOW HE IS MY HERO.
