

David Clinton Wells, 66, of Pierre Part, LA, passed away on June 13th. Visitation will be held from 6:00-10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19th and on Thursday, June 20th from 7:00-9:30 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 20th at St. Joseph the Worker Church with Fr. Waguespack officiating. David was born in Live Oak, Florida on January 8, 1947. He served in the U.S. Army between 1964 and 1978 serving as an Airborne Ranger in Vietnam and also seeing combat in the Dominican Republic. After he left the service, he worked for Halliburton. David was firm in his faith in God and passionate about his family, his country, and his sports. David is survived by Veronica Gaudet Wells, his loving wife of forty-six years; five sons, David C. Wells, Jr. (Denise) of Seattle, WA, Thomas Wells of, Bayou L’Ourse John Wells (Patricia) of Opelousas, Michael Wells (Paula) of Prairieville, Jared Wells (Lindsey) of Napoleonville; One Daughter, Sharon Wells (Bruce Guillot) of Pierre Part; former daughter in law Anne-Marie Wells of Lockport; two brothers, Clifton Wells (Louvenia) of Moultrie, GA and Calvin Wells (Ellen) of Baton Rouge; four sisters Carolyn Lewis (Aaron) of Mariana, FL, Catherine Collins (Ron) of Inverness, FL, Judy Schueren (Jim) of Walker; Joan Lewis (Dave) of Alvin, TX; Ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild. David is preceded in death by his parents James C. Wells and Murnice Hall Wells; Brothers Gene Wells of Baton Rouge and Lester Wells of Gibsonton, Florida. The family of David C. Wells wishes to thank Dr. Scott Seals, Dr. Mark Hodges, Dr. Charles Bolotte, Dr. Georgia Rein, Dr. Andrew Lauve, and Dr. Jacqueline Poulos and the VA hospital and staff. His sons will serve as pallbearers. Ethan, Nick, and Jacob Wells will serve as honorary pallbearers.
