Betsy Ross

Known for Portraiture, sea scapes and florals in various mediums including oil, pastel and pencil. Through the years, Betsy was commissioned for portraits of Jackie Gleason, Mike Douglas, Prince Matchabelli Perfume as well as Look and Life Magazine to name a few.

Betsy attended The Art Students League, NYC Colby-Sawyer College, New London, N.H. Betsy was also an enthusiast of theater, opera and classic vintage movies, reading the Sun Sentinel cover-to-cover each day. Married January 24, 1948 to Robert E. Ross, Jr., WWII B-17 crew member and former Manager of Promotions and Advertising of the Sun-Sentinel in the early 70's.

Survived by her daughter Dana R. Craig, son-in-law Edwin R. Craig III, daughter Elizabeth Banks Ross, and son Robert Edwin Ross III.

A visitation and service will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home on Sample Road in Pompano Beach, FL., on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. The visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and the service will follow immediately after at 6:00 pm.
