Carol Ann (Zuder) Maloney.
Carol Maloney passed to her Heavenly reward Wednesday, September 21 after a protracted illness.
She was born and raised in Corning, New York, and after high school attended The Eastman School of Dental Hygiene where she earned her license and then received her BA at SUNY Cortland. She worked in several dentists’ offices and also taught Health Education at the high school level for several years. In addition to her work, Carol was actively involved in charitable activities for many years. She was most proud of The Care Cupboard, a food pantry that served people with H.I.V. and AIDS which she co-founded in the Chicago area in the 1990’s.). The past several years she was very active in Gilda’s Club of South Florida in Ft. Lauderdale, an organization that serves the needs of cancer survivors, their families and friends. Yet some of her most lasting contributions came in her role of matriarch where she inspired her family, children and grandchildren with important lessons which will always be cherished.
She has been a resident of South Florida since 2004 with her husband Joseph who survives her. Additionally she is survived by son Joshua (wife Lisa and daughters Fiona and Daphne) of Richland Washington; son Gregory (daughters Ludmila and Georgia) of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida; sister Mary Lynn Zuder of Corning, NY (husband Timothy Havens, daughter Ashley and son Adam)
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Gilda’s Club of South Florida.
