I can't believe it's been a year since you've passed away Debbie.
I still drop every cork from every bottle of wine on it's end while thinking of you.
I can feel you laughing at me when I can't do it and making it happen for me when I do.

I will always think of Debbie as a beautiful and classy woman.  She  always looked stunning when we would go out for dinner and drinks.    I would feel like the luckiest  and happiest guy in the restaurant just to be  sitting next to her.

Debbie and I loved to play her games but especially Mexican Train.  We would share a bottle of red wine (usually Apothic) which she enjoyed while we played the train game.  

We had a ritual when we opened the wine bottle which Debbie taught to me.  We would take turns holding the wine cork from the newly opened bottle above the counter and dropping it to see who could make it stand on it's end  in the fewest number of drops.  She was a good teacher and she hated when I would make the cork stand in fewer moves than she did.

She took delight in jinxing me when I chose my domino chips...  I will never forget the way that she swirled her hands over the chips invoking magical chants against me so that I wouldn't get the chips that I needed.   She made fun of my trains asking me why mine were so short...these were times of pure joy for me.  I used to imagine that one day she and I would travel on cruise ships in retirement and play this game together.

Debbie...I don't have many friends...and rarely do I call someone "my friend".    Debbie darling you were my friend and I miss you so much.
