Regina, Rob and Chris,

We are overwhelmed as you are at the loss of our dear friend,  your husband and Dad. We want you to understand that his passing is devastating to us as it must be to you. But I must share that we draw strength from the relationship we had with him. He was an extraordinary friend.  He was easy to be with and comforting during difficult times for all of us. He was attentive and caring to us as well as our friends.  He didn't drain people, he nourished them.  He paid attention. He and I shared common experiences growing up in the Bronx being educated in parochial schools and completing our formal education at Manhattan College, albeit at different times. We meandered through careers only to truly connect in the 90's. We did cross paths once in the 70's when we met at dinner at a common favorite in Westchester, Heidi's Brauhaus.  At the time it only registered because he was there with his Dad who was known to me. In the 90's we met again, developed a professional relationship and grew to become fast and devoted friends. A testament to our bond is the fact that he shared one of his family treasures with Kelly and I, his Fall Sunday afternoons with the NY Giants. We were honored by his invitation into the "Cohane" ring of honor. We honored his memory this weekend by attending an albeit lackluster Giant performance after a 4 hour drive. I'm certain he would have approved. We'll close by saying goodbye. We love you all. We miss him but he'll be with us always. His friendship will continue to be our source of strength.

Hi Regina. 
 We are so sorry to hear about John.  We  had so much fun hanging out with you guys last year at the pool. John told great stories and was always so kind and generous, especially to Danielle.  Danielle still has the backpack John  got her and thinks of him whenever she uses it. It's amazing how our paths crossed again after so many years apart since high school.  We're thankful for that. Even though we are a distance away, we always think of you both. We always will. Again, we are so sorry Regina. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Cohane family in this time of grief. I was a friend of John’s during those days at NYNEX/ Verizon.  I remember well his penchant for detail as he was often doing his best to keep me in line!
He will be missed, a great friend and colleague.

Just a few thoughts of love and support to johns lovely Bride .. Regina....I know her from. Near and far for 45 years.   The old days in the Bronx..  I'm sorry for her and her families devastating loss....I hope your life  together was  full of many cherished days.    And I pray for your family today.   During these challenging days.. ...God Bless you all and may John .....RIP ...amen....

I have fond memories of John, he was a close friend to my brother Joe,and was always nice to me: the kid brother ! John was also a very dapper dresser and, a as a kid I was the recipient of some pretty fashionable hand-me-downs ! Thanks and God Bless John !

John and I were friends through grammar school and high school at St. Nicholas of Tolentine; and through college, even though I went to Fordham and he went to Manhattan, one of our biggest rivals. He introduced me to cheeseburgers, bacon & eggs on a roll with ketchup, Coca-Cola in those small bottles and Tom Collins! He also taught me how to water-ski but I could never ski slalom while he could ski barefoot! His parents were very generous to me and I was invited to their house on Kirk Lake many times. He also helped me get my first job at A&P where I met my wife, Morena. We attended each others wedding, me to Morena and him to Peggy, but unfortunately we lost track after that. Morena and I extend our deepest sympathies to his family. He was a great guy taken way too soon. Joe McCormack

I can't even imagine what you are going through at this time.  May looking back in memories of the wonderful life you had with John help comfort you in the days to come.

John was such a  Gentlemen, Very Caring and lots of fun.  We had the pleasure of meeting John a very long time ago when he met Regina.  
We had so  much fun and lots of laughs.  His smile was awesome and so was his personality, which we will never forget.  

In honor and memory of John Robert a candle burns for him at St Patrick's Cathedral in NYC right  now.
