Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Pat knew instantly the warmth, grace, and kindness she brought into every room. Her gentle spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her.
Pat dedicated many years to working at Guilford Pediatrics in Connecticut, where she became a familiar and cherished face to countless families in the community—watching generations of children grow with compassion and care.
Later in life, Pat made her home in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where she was an active and faithful member of Falls Baptist Church. Her strong belief in God, her love of fellowship, and her joyful presence made her a cherished member of the congregation.
She will be deeply missed by her loving children: John (Sherry) Battista, Tom (Mary Beth) Battista, Pat (Mike) Iavarone, and Maria (Jim) Graney. Pat was also a proud and devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Choplin, with whom she shared many wonderful years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rockwell Seniors and Vitas Hospice for the care and compassion they have shown our mother during the past three years. We are grateful for you and your support during this difficult season.
A private family service will be held at a later date to celebrate her life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Pat’s memory, honoring her generous heart and commitment to helping others.
